The 2nd PCLL semi-final game took place today at Northeastern.  The game featured Stonehill vs. The US Coast Guard Academy.  This game had tons of offense, it was filled with great end to end action.  The final score was 20-12 Coast Guard over Stonehill.  This means that Coast Guard advances to the PCLL D2 final to face Briarcliffe.  The winner of that game gets a bid to the National Tournament being held in Greenville, South Carolina.

Today’s game was a gem to watch from a fans perspective.  There were long poles going end to end and scoring, there were guys dodging down the alleys and hitting the far corner.  It was a fans dream and a coaches nightmare.  Lots of blown assignments on defense, and not much going on in the riding and clearing game.  Overall Coast Guard had more fire power and that is why they won the game.  Leading the charge for Coast Guard was Nicholas Zablotny who had 5 goals, Steven Danseglio had 4 goals, Eric Schmid and Stuart Carley both had 3 goals, Austin English had 2 goals, and Paul Dellisola and Tim Wyderko each had 1.  Their goalie Cory Pray was solid in net, keeping Stonehill at bay.  Scoring for Stonehill was Connor Green with 3 goals, they then had 4 guys that scored 2 goals, they are Nick Palen, aka the human clear, Anthony Powers, Devin Green, and Connor McDevitt, and Robert Flippin had 1 goal on the day.  Their goalie Mike Phillips played well but not well enough.

Check back tomorrow for a recap of the PCLL D2 Championship game.
